North Queensland Management Rights Update

People I talk to from around Australia and further afield in overseas parts often ask me what about coming to North

Queensland . If they are to invest in business and living here, what would be the attractions?   As each week I sit on the white sands of the beach in the shade of gently swaying palm trees under blue skies with 27 degree    temperatures in the middle of July , I also wonder about the same things. If I need any reminders of life on the other side, the newspapers and internet remind me just how life might be.

Many   Australians from down there seem surprised when I tell   them the much publicised floods that devastated south east Queensland earlier this year had absolutely no impact up here in North Queensland. In fact those floods were more than 1000 kilometres away! So what about Cyclone Yasi?   That must have been horrific. Well it was for the small coastal communities situated halfway between Cairns and Townsville. However the fact is I and my   family slept soundly right through the worst of Yasi up here in Cairns and those I know in Townsville did much the same. I don‘t want to lessen the devastating effects for those in the direct path of Yasi, but the fact is for most people in North Queensland life was back to normal within a day or two. To put things in perspective, Yasi was the closest cyclone experience in my wife‘s lifetime and she has been in North Queensland more than 25 years!

For me if I had to choose between serious earthquakes, floods, bushfires or cyclones, I would take the cyclones any day.

So it may be little wonder why people up here are a bit laid back, have a positive outlook and see the sunshine in every day. There are always things to grumble about but when the livin‘ is easy , what‘s the point?

If lifestyle wasn‘t enough to attract you, what about business opportunity and the prospect of profit?   Along with the rest of Australia, the regional economy has been at the bottom of the cycle in the wake of the global financial crisis. There is no mistaking tourism has been and continues to be affected by   the strength of the Australian dollar. However history clearly shows all of these cyclical economic impacts have a silver lining and in the circumstances there is no better time to invest than at the bottom of the cycle. Not only are you investing when prices are at their most appealing, but your investment will ride on the crest of that wave when the economy improves. In a few short years your investment is worth considerably more.

Currently I have many good listings that stack up very well. (Kapitol Brokers don‘t list them if they won‘t stack up!)

Furthermore I know of sellers who haven‘t listed as yet. They are willing to sell but not quite ready to sell. Let me know what it is you want and I will do what I can to find some options to look at.

In the meantime, as the sun sets in the west and the tide slowly turns, I will go take another quick dip. What‘s the weather like where you are?   Where will you be when the tide comes in?
