North Queensland Update

We have plenty of positive news coming from the far north, including increased visitor numbers, new direct airlines flights and a global television show to mention some.

Singaporebased Tiger Airways has commenced flights directly from Melbourne to Cairns in September.Through its own international network, the airline is keen to expand this service and there are hints of more flights coming our way.European travellers are bringing the most tourist dollars to our city, followed by the Kiwis while the Japanese and Chinese markets are growing fast.

Air New Zealand and Virgin Blue have markedly increased services to Cairns from Auckland NZ and inaddition both Jetstar and Virgin Blue have increased capacity and services into Cairns from most major domestic centres in recent months. On the domestic front we have found most of our visitors are from Queensland with Victoria a close second as our fastest growing domestic market.

Some priceless international exposure is promised as the media superstar Oprah Winfrey, brings her entire television audience to sample the regions tourism attractions andofferings. This heavily syndicated television show reaches a worldwide audience measured in the hundreds of millions. The Far North will be the centre of attention.  

In subsequent newsletters I will outline more reasons why you should seriously consider investing in this region. There is little doubt North Queensland is on the up and up and there would be no better time to consider your move than right now.
